"The film aspires to allegorically outline the passage from life to Hades, or the passage through the river Acheron, which, from the word "ἄχος," describes deep sorrow, grief, and lamentation. The picture, set in the 1980s, interweaves a peculiar surrealism blended with the real world. Under strong orchestral musical accompaniments, a black-and-white background, and sometimes prominent color, I tried to convey what music alone cannot express. The color blue symbolizes hope. Purple is associated with despair or disappointment. Black and white, film scratches, and TV interpolations reflect a blurry world through the kid's eyes. Finally, green symbolizes the presence of Lucifer. When we see green, something really bad is subtly happening."
